holiday ready? here’s a checklist of essentials to pack for your upcoming trip

Planning a winter getaway? Whether you’re heading to the north coast or jet setting off for the European summer here is a list of essentials to pack for your next trip to ensure your eyes stay healthy and you don’t miss the sights!

Prescription glasses + spare pair of glasses
As you start planning what to pack for your upcoming holiday, don’t forget to include your prescription glasses at the top of your list! (even if you primarily wear contact lenses) It’s also a great idea to pack a back up pair just in case you lose or break your glasses or your eyes are red or irritated and you need to give them a break from your contact lenses. Having a spare pair ensures you can relax and enjoy your trip without any unexpected vision problems.

Prescription sunglasses
Sunglasses are essential when it comes to protecting your eyes from harmful UV rays. If you wear prescription glasses, consider getting a pair of prescription sunglasses or Transition lenses to provide you with clear vision whilst also protecting your eyes from the sun.

Contact lenses + solutions
Be sure to pack enough lenses for the duration of your trip along with a few extras just incase. Bring enough solution to keep your lenses clean. Daily disposable lenses are a great option to avoid solutions and additional cleaning.

Eye drops
Travelling often causes dry or irritated eyes. Particularly during flights or in air-conditioned environments. Keep your eyes comfortable with lubricating eye drops. If you have specific eye conditions like allergies, it’s also a good idea to pack any necessary medicated eye drops.
