BONEHAM | PETERS OPTOMETRIST Sydney CBD has been in operation since 1984. Our name has changed a few times in that period, but the biggest constant is our passion for vision and eye care. We are proud to still have patients who have been coming since our inception, and we remain passionate about taking care of our patients’ sight and style.
In late 2023, we opened a second location, BONEHAM | PETERS OPTOMETRIST Mosman, to provide an alternative destination for those who are not able to come see us in the CBD. Like our flagship store in Wynyard, we offer the selction of carefully curated luxury eyewear and superior level of customer service you have come to expect from BONEHAM | PETERS.
Our resident optometrists are actively involved in graduate and postgraduate education, both nationally and internationally. They regularly attend seminars and conferences to stay up to date with the latest research and treatment in the field of optometry.
Both practices are independent family-owned and operated. We are equipped with state of the art technology to ensure precise measurements for dispensing glasses. Our CBD practice in Wynyard is also equipped with on-site lens edging and fitting to ensure faster turn around time and greater quality control.
Our vision is to assist every individual in discovering their own unique style of eyewear and ensure they leave our stores happy and confident with their new look.

Michael Peters
Optical Mechanic Optical Dispenser

Michael Peters is a partner at BONEHAM | PETERS OPTOMETRIST. He is a dual-trained optical dispenser and optical mechanic, one of few with this qualification in Sydney. Michael cuts and edges lenses at our in-house lab at Wynyard and is amongst the most experienced multifocal lens fitters available. He takes pride in solving difficult prescriptions and gains satisfaction when he can make a big difference to a patient’s overall look and comfort. Mike also enjoys fitting lenses for sports prescriptions as a keen cyclist and footballer himself.

Sarah Boneham

Sarah has been at BONEHAM | PETERS OPTOMETRIST since 2016. She graduated Optometry and Science with first-class honours in 2014. She enjoys all aspects of optometry particularly ocular disease and therapeutics. She is therapeutically endorsed for scheduled medicines so can treat a number of anterior eye conditions and is a clinical supervisor at the University of New South Wales. Outside of work Sarah enjoys being outdoors with her young family.
Sarah consults on Wednesdays at Wynyard.
Lynn Lee

Lynn has been at BONEHAM | PETERS OPTOMETRIST since 2022. She graduated Optometry and Science with honours in 2014. She is therapeutically endorsed for scheduled medicines so can treat a number of anterior eye conditions. Outside of work Lynn enjoys playing tennis and is trying her hand at golf.
Lynn consults Monday-Friday.

Dr Gavin Boneham

Gavin is a partner at BONEHAM | PETERS OPTOMETRIST. He graduated optometry in 1984 and was awarded his PhD in 1997. He works in clinical practice with a particular interest in advanced contact lens fitting for corneal conditions such as keratoconus and myopia control. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control. He presents at both Australian and International conferences and is a visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales.
He played 1st grade for Randwick Rugby in the late ’80s and early ’90s, if you are a rugby fan he has many tales to tell. He enjoys coaching his daughter’s basketball team and all things sports.

Michael Feng

Michael graduated B Optometry/B Science honours from UNSW in 2014. He is therapeutically endorsed and is exceptionally experienced in managing and treating a wide range of eye conditions.
He began his career in a busy regional practice south of Sydney where he built up his optometry experience.
Over the last 7 years he moved back to Sydney and worked as a contractor, working in both corporate and independent sectors. With his wealth of experience, in 2023 he decided to partner up with BONEHAM|PETERS and help open up their second location in Mosman.
Being short sighted himself, and seeing the great benefits of Orthokeratology first hand, Michael is passionate about myopia control and the benefits of contact lenses for children.
Outside of work, Michael is a keen surfer. He enjoys anything that elevates the heart rate and loves getting his daughter and wife into his hobbies.
Michael currently consults at Mosman Mon-Sat. He is able to consult in Mandarin and Shanghainese if required.

Every year we visit the world’s largest optical trade show in Paris to source new eyewear collections and obtain the latest designs fom all over the world. By talking to the designers face-to-face and inspecting the frames personally, we are guaranteeing you the highest quality, and distinctive eyewear that is a cut above what you may have experienced previously. We ensure we have exceptional frames for every face size, shape and prescription.
